Sorry if this has been asked and answered before but I couldn't find it with the search function. Anyways, has anyone figured a way to watch ABC, CBS, NBC's TV shows on their websites? If I try it here in Daejeon I get a note saying only viewers in the US can watch it. Has anyone had any success with a proxy server to bypass this?

Maybe a "slingbox" is the best way, which requires cooperation of a friend with cable in a country where the desired channels are aired. Then you will need a recorder because the hours are different. Google slingbox. Works anywhere.

Many are enjoyable, but most are local news and public service channels, not a lot of ABC, NBC, CBS.
after it comes up, choose a country and city, then click on "STREAM". If you have windows media player and quicktime you can get a full screen picture.

I'm working on my "Free to Air" satellite, but not ready to detail what I can get yet. I haven't got it set for Asian birds yet. More later. If anyone has setup for free to air units in Asia, speak up.

I haven't figured out a way to do it, so I rely upon the users of www.Fanpop.com to post the shows I like to watch. They don't have them all, but enough to get me through the week.

I encountered the same problem as you so I emailed NBC because I love "The Office" and wanted to watch the full episodes online. I believe it is a streaming technical issue, we are just too far away from the stateside servers to successfully watch these shows online. I resorted to downloading episodes from Piratebay.org using Azerus torrent downloading software., most of the latest media is there. Hope this helps!

It is actually an FCC restriction placed on them because of advertising. I was able to connect to them using a US proxy, but most of those are just not fast enough to support the stream.

You can either download them via bit torrent like stated above, or you can hook a slingbox up somewhere in the USA. I did both actually. In order to run a slingbox, you need both a cable/ satellite connection and a broadband internet connection. I just had my wife install a 2nd dish network receiver right n ext to our DSL modem and I was able to watch anything I wanted.

I actually found bit torrent to be very nice, and it opened me up to LOTS of other shows out there that I was able to watch on my own time and at my own pace, plus there are NO commercials at all... it was soooooooooo nice!

Just to clarify, there are MANY slingbox type devices on the market, so do your research!
