ETSing
Does anyone know if they'll PCS my DH from Korea when he'll only have 8 months left when his DEROS is up or will they just extend us here? We heard from a warrant in his unit that if you don't have more than 13 months they won't PCS you. Then his E7 said that if you have more than 6 months left in the service they WILL PCS you. Does anyone know which it is?

Re: ETSing
6 months 2 days to be exact....your going to PCS.
Or you can ask for an FSTE (forgien service tour extension) for 3 months and then just ETS from here. If you ask for a FSTE it still goes to 8th Army but it does not fall under the rules of AIP. Also the unit will have to have a good reason on the DA form 4187 to ask for the extension. Hope this helps. Chuck

Re: ETSing
It does help! I knew you'd come through for me! I should have just called you first...
Although I must mention that I think that's insane. By the time that he took terminal leave, went through ACAP, and out processed he'd be worthless to them. Of course, I'm sure they'd make sure they sent him to a unit that was deploying so he'd be stop-lossed. Ugh, I guess we shall see what happens.
