Cindy Protests USFK

Who in Korea approved her entry into South Korea?:

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan visited a village near Camp Humphreys on Monday night in a show of $)C!0solidarity!1 with local residents opposing the installation!/s expansion.

Sheehan was part of a group of about 20 activists from the United States who are in South Korea this week to oppose the expansion project and a proposed South Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. The camp is set to triple in size in coming years and become the U.S. military!/s main installation on the peninsula. Some local residents backed by South Korean anti-US activists have been resisting the expansion since 2005.

What does Cindy Sheehan know about South Korea? Absolutely nothing. As Richardson noted, she can't even make up her own signs. This picture is absolutely priceless:

Her is my favorite quote from Sheehan's sister:
Sheehan!/s sister Dede Miller, of Los Angeles, told the audience, !0I!/m just very sorry for what my country is doing to yours.!1

(Note sarcasm on) Yes I as an American am very sorry about everything the my country has done to Korea as well, especially the ending of 35 years of Japanese colonial rule that costs hundreds of thousands of lives during World War II, the sacrifice of 33,000+ lives during the Korean War to save the country from communism, 55 years of peace, security assistance, and economic development that has brought South Korea's to the 11th strongest economy in the world and one of the best global standards of living. Yes we as Americans have a lot to be ashamed of.

Do these wackos know that the US is reducing it's military footprint in Korea from 41 camps to 10? Do they know the Koreans are making a huge net gain in land from all the USFK base closures including some of the most valuable property in all of Korea, Yongsan Garrison in downtown Seoul? Do they know that the vast majority of Daechu-ri villagers left freely and that the majority of the people of Pyeongtaek want the base consolidation and they also want the protesters gone. Has she even seen polls that show that 8 in 10 Koreans oppose the protesters while 7 in 10 approve of the camp consolidation? Does she and her cronies know that they are being used by people linked to North Korean spies? Than again she is friends with Hugo Chavez so why shouldn't she be friends with Kim Jong-il as well?
Oh My News also has more on the Cindy Sheehan visit:

The sign she is holding says from my limited Korean skills something like renegotiate the Camp Humphreys expansion. Native speakers feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Mark's comment at Lost Nomad best summarizes this whole thing:
Maybe she can go up north and pose on a nork 57mm antiaircraft gun wearing a nork helmet?

Is there anyone more hypocritical and self absorbed than this woman? Make sure you read more at Lost Nomad and DPRK Studies.

Re: Cindy Protests USFK

Too bad Korea popped up on her radar in her quest to look for causes. I now believe, more than ever, that she is mentally ill. That old Korean grandmother in the picture with Sheehans arm around her looks obviously uncomfortable with that arm on her shoulders. Sheehan needs to come down with a raging case of the crud, then she needs to be escorted home and directed to the nearest mental hospital.

Re: Cindy Protests USFK

As long as she is in country she will probably show up in one of the GI bar districts so she can jump on that bandwagon too. Maybe she'll show up in SongTan on dart league night and get in a fight with some of the Korean female league members as she accuses them of being prostitutes. We can call her SongTan Cindy after that.

Re: Cindy Protests USFK

This shows her true motive. She is Anti-U.S., not anti-Bush. I think her son's deaths simply gave her a platform to voice her opinions. She is a Michael Moore follower. I find it funny that he HUGE following is 20 people.

Re: Cindy Protests USFK

I would love to quiz her about current events and recent politics in Korea. I guarantee she knows nothing about anything in Korea. She probably can even name the current president of Korea, and yet here she is sticking her nose into something she knows nothing about besides what North Korean sponsored anti-US NGOs are telling her. She is a useful idiot.

Thumbs down Re: Cindy Protests USFK

Now we have the Anti-American witch (I can think of better words) in South Korea, the Customs inspectors in United States should forbid her re-entry into the U.S.. It's our country...love it or leave it. Since the cease-fire of the Korean War, South Korea has had the better hand of cards. North Korea is starving and has no chance for prosperity. While South Korea, well, South Korea has made many advances in their society, both economically and culturally. They have been on the road to success since the Olympics in 1988. It is hard for any of us to abstain from patting our selves on the back as a country. South Korea is who they are because of the big part we have played in their defense and security. Cindy has definately missed the mark on this, as usual. Have another glass of Soju, Cindy, shut your mouth and start walking for the border to the North. This is where you belong.

Re: Cindy Protests USFK

I would say someone should swap out her water bottle for a combat Soju and see what happens. She may end up muttering the phrase "you wanna go?" Good times.
