My favorite bar girl doesn't have a cell phone, she uses another girls phone. Oh yeah and just because these girls call you right after they get off work that doesn't mean that they are not meeting some guy at a hotel after they hang up the phone. I have some friends that have married juicy girls in the past and they are reall happy. No they didn't pay the $3000 bar fine they waited until the girls contract ran out. Just curious what is the favorite bar of yours.

I like Bobos and Sting. Bobos is a great place to get a beer and Sting has the best looking girls in Songtan. How about you?

Some girls are lied to or not all the trueth is told about what they do in Korea. Another girls know what in going on. Personaly I just thinking I'm a waitress or something. I was wrong.
Then they take your passport and tell you if the police catch you with no passport you go to prison so you dont run away. Then they give you penalty if you dont have enough drinks or bar fine. If you bad and not a lot of customer they sometimes send you to another city to work in korean places. They tell you $300 monthly in salary but they never pay it because they tell you all the money is for your penalty. Then there is the dark side. When all the GI go home for the curfew we have to deal with all Korean and another foriegn people. It not a good life and maybe that why some girls play the guy because the girls are being played maybe not by you but the owners and other people so they learn how to do that. The girls get hard attitude! |

Re: What is your opinion on the bar girls and owners in Korea?
What kind of girls are there? I was there in 02-03 and there were FSU and Philipinas. I've heard it's changed. Is this true? I am going back this Summer and want to know what to expect.

Re: What is your opinion on the bar girls and owners in Korea?
Guys...
A question here..and maybe it's inappropriate given the topic, and my status here...but a) Are y'all married? and b) If so, do your spouses realize that you're spending -that- much money on juicy girls? Or do they think you're spending every night in your dorms being a good little boy and only going bowling on Sundays , as many guys seem to have their wives believing? Just curious... Dee |

N0-there are few inappropriate questions on this forum! I've been around the longest , so I'll answer first. You already know the answer. Boys will be boys, at home or overseas. The same with girls. There are three basic needs, as you have read before, according to Maslov: mainly food, shelter and one more.
Mores of a society, (the accepted behaviors) are different in different parts of the world. For instance, Europeans and Americans are heavily influenced by their various religions. Most religions and societies in these areas believe in monogamy, and being faithful to one's significant other, or spouse. I like to believe this is a strong factor in Western Societies. Unfortunately, not all members of the society hold to these beliefs at all times. You already knew that. So, the answer is- some of "Us Guys" are married and some are not. Some remain faithful and some don't. Christians among us who are true believers, fear God, Wives and /or the fires of hell and eternal damnation. Yet the Bible says all have sinned. President Jimmy Carter admitted he had sinned in his heart. (Desire.) Others as famous or not so famous have tried to hide their sins. That sure didn't work, even for Jimmy Swaggert or Bill, or JFK! All Christians hope that God is a forgiving God, as opposed to a God who will hold a grudge! In short, we are human in nature. We were built to procreate. Belief in Salvation holds that if you are truly sorry, and profess Jesus as your Savior, your sins will be forgiven. One can play with fire and not get burned. But is it worth it? That is an individual decision. Those of you who pray, say one for the married guys who put themselves in the way of temptation. Being in Korea is no different than being in the US, as far as temptation is concerned, save for perhaps being a long distance from one's spouse. BTW edu76-What is a FSU? I know what a Filipina is. Re: What is your opinion on the bar girls and owners in Korea?
This is an interesting thread...I was stationed at Suwon/Osan 1991-1993, and then in Yongsan 1995-1998. I can only speak from my era. When I was stationed at Osan, I DJ'd in a few clubs. Got to know the Songtan mafia, bar owners, ajumas, and girls quite well. Back then the girls were paid a negotiated salary. Additionally, the girls received a percentage of juicy drink profits. If the drink was $5 they received $2, $10 - $4 , etc. Some girls were free to leave at anytime. The problem most faced was that they borrowed money from the bar for misc reasons. Most was to settle debt at a previous club or breast augmentation, family issues, etc. They could not leave until there debt was settled. The smart girls were debt free and had control over there situation. Most girls I knew were there by choice. They were making good money and partying like rockstars. Back then we didn't have Filipino, Russian, etc. It was all Koreans.
When I returned in 1995 I noticed a few Filipinos at Osan, but not like I hear it is now. There weren't any Russians. 1995-1998 Itaewon was the same as it was back in 1991-1993. It hadn't changed up until I left in 1998. JP |
