North Korea fired another missile.

North Korea test-fired another short-range missile into the East Sea on Tuesday afternoon. It was the third missile firing by the North this year.

A military source believed the latest launch to be part of routine military exercises, rather than a provocative action, considering the North Korean nuclear issue is close to a resolution. But South Korean military authorities are trying to confirm why Pyongyang fired the missile this time, he added.

It is believed the missile was a Seersucker surface-to-ship missile with a range of 100 to 120 km, an improved version of the Silkworm surface-to-ship missile, but the South Korean military hasn't ruled out the possibility that it could have been a surface-to-surface KN-02 with a similar range to the Seersucker.
The missile was fired from a missile base in Dancheon, South Hamgyong Province.
