Who should say "Ah-Gah-Shee"?
What is an AH-GA-SHEE? I'm sure many of you have been told it is "Miss". Well, it is...but not exactly used in the same sense, really.
OK...guys and gals ages 37 and above, ignore this post and go on and keep using the word as you always do. OK, in the states...say you're 21 and you pass by a girl about the same age as you on a college campus. Do you call her "Miss"? Of course not! You say "Excuse me" to get her attention. Why? Because only the "old" professors refer to her as "Miss". It may pass in a restaurant, but generally in public when you try to get the attention of some girl or woman near the vicinity of your age, you say "Excuse me" and not "Miss". That's the concept in Korea...sort of. If you, 21, go to a Korean Womens' University and say, "Ah-Gah-Shee", those girls would giggle at you...some may even ignore you. So...the "Excuse me" approach is your solution: Excuse me = Jeo-Gi-Yeoh But what if you're out partying and you want to get the attention of some fine ladies with the "Sup, baby?!" approach? Well,...I don't quite think there is a line or concept like that in this culture...maybe a few completely rude ones. If there is such a thing, let me know. ![]() |

For all the single guys coming to or already in Korea there needs to be an answer to (what if you're out partying and you want to get the attention of some fine ladies with the "Sup, baby?!" approach?) What are some Korean Pick up lines ( that work ) I only remember the ones that didn't work.
