I am sure one of the reasons that Britney's legal team is going after her has to do with some of the peculiarities of copyright law. In order to keep a copyright enforced, you need to have shown efforts to defend it. If they do not defend this copyright now, it is possible that they would be less likely to be able to defend it later on if another infringment occurs.

I know what you're saying and I agree. I was just being sarcastic and emphasizing how the Korean entertainment business has become pretty successful to get the attention of a superstar like Spears.
