This is the 3rd case I have seen in 2 years! Stupid people like this deserve long prison sentences. Accounting will always catch up to you!

An Air Force staff sergeant received an eight-month jail sentence Tuesday for defrauding the government of more than $10,000 in housing money.

Staff Sgt. Rodney L. White of the 8th Fighter Wing, convicted of larceny and signing a false official document, also was reduced in rank to E-1 and given a bad conduct discharge.

White stated his dependents lived in Wakefield, Mass., when they actually lived in San Antonio.

Somehow, I just don't think that extra hundred or so in BAH this guy collected was worth sacrificing not only his career in the Air Force, but effectively, any aspirations he might have had for after the AF... it makes you wonder what people are thinking, huh?

Makes me -really- glad I didn't listen to the dumbkopf NCO in TMO who tried to tell my husband and I that we were in the wrong for his orders saying that I was going to Korea NCS, and tried to insist to both us and Outbound that the orders be changed and say that I was staying in the states. When we protested, saying that would be signing to false information, his comment was that we -had- to lie. Luckily, the outbound rep didn't cave, despite the fact the guy was trying to throw around the fact that he outranked her, and refused to change the statement unless we asked to do so, and we requested that things be kept the same.

Makes you wonder sometimes if some of these guys are just stupid or are acting on bad information passed on from those who are "supposed" to know.

Also makes you wonder, how many other folks have gotten away with it. I guarentee you that at least 25% of folks do this...that have assignments here in Korea...its the unlucky ones that get caught!
