Re: Town Patrol cracking down on violator's
I absolutely love the barracks lawyering. It sure makes it easy for commander's to make their decision about whether or not to take away those valuable stripes.
So, the question that comes to mind is what the heck are you doing in a juicy's place? Ummm...let me think Human Trafficking and prostitution comes to mind. If people would just follow the rules and act like human beings we probably wouldn't need to have town patrol to begin with, but with the morons that decide to go downtown and act like asses...thanks for ruining things for those that have the ability to act responsible. If anyone bothers to read the news they would figure out real quick that those idiots that can't act right are growing in numbers not decreasing. Over 100,000 people entered the military on morale waivers was what was in the most recent article I read...seriously? Are we really stooping that low? Go get 'em town patrol...some of us are glad you are out there enforcing the standard. ![]() |

Dameeun has it figured out, although I would have said,"Law- abiding moral members of a society" instead of human beings.
Human beings are just animals with the ability to think. Give them alcohol and they easily revert to animal instincts. Then they can rape someone three times after midnight and not remember it the next day... It makes us ponder how desperate the Army leadership is, to recruit miscreants and moral offenders. Maybe they really would be doing society a service if they sent them directly to the sand box, as "cannon fodder" for IED's... It could improve the overall statistics of U.S. kids under 25, and save some moral, law-abiding kid to live another day. But some come to Korea and undermine whatever respect Korea still has, or had, for the U.S. Now they are paying $2000 to former soldiers to recruit kids to fill quotas! Be careful. NCO's and Officers don't want to be babysitters or parole officers. What if the good ones get out, and the only ones promotable are the leftovers? Say it isn't so! Sorry, I got off the track again. Go town patrol! It is really important to reduce prostitution and human trafficking! These evils have been going on since Adam and Eve and it is high time the Army stepped up to cure it! Thanks to the Korean National Police, also, for their enthusiastic help! |

Quote:
There were several guys in my Infantry basic training that came straight from prison. They were given the option of serving out the rest of their sentence, or joining the military. One was in for statutory rape, another for armed robbery... |

You are correct, Willy! I should have said,"Increasing the numbers of miscreants and moral offenders...". Military service in lieu of jail time has been an option used by some judges for a long time.
I am hearing from recent grads from basic training that a percentage of the less desirable recruits are weeded out during basic training. Again nothing new. But are the numbers of "undesirables" making it through basic training increasing? Maybe, maybe not. There may always be some who want to challenge authority, and some who enjoy enforcing authority a little too much. Human nature? I think so. |

Re: Town Patrol cracking down on violator's
Hey Mav! I can't tell which post you are referring to, but if you identify it by date or time and you think it will benefit someone somehow, we can remove it.
Guess everyone should learn from your experience that anything you say on the open internet may be used against you in a court of law? Do you have any good advice for the new troops just coming into Korea? |

Re: Town Patrol cracking down on violator's
You know my feeling about Town patrol...is that they are supporting human trafficking and prostitution, and encouraging it! Why would i say this???
Town patrol was formed to regulate on USFK members in an establish bar hoppin district. This way if there was a problem, the cops would handle it verse the KNP. But here the problem to this, the bars they patrol, have girls from the Philippines in them...and they are not waitresses...they are bar girls...and what is there job there...for the GI's its to sit with them and talk, while at the same time the GI's are buying a ladies drink for them at a tune of $10. Well if this is not a sign of human traffic..not sure what is. As for the Koreans..after curfews...the Koreans will go into Atown and pay $150 a night to sleep with these girls for short time action. The TP knows all about this and what goes on, but since they are Korean nationals they cant get involved. Well this is how you stop this problem...shut down the clubs, and make them off limits to GI's, now what will happen to the girls....they are shipped off to another cities. The girls have promoter, which i know very well the promoters of Atown...so well in fact we have traveled to the Philippines together, and i have been to a recruitment sessions in Manila. Now i have seen first hand, what goes doen in the auditions...thses girls are offer jobs through a entertainment contract via Seoul. In which they promise to work at restraunts or hotels by singing in bands or a karokee sessions. In the contract it states, that the girls may be moved from one location to another through the permission of a promoter and an agent. All work visa's are provided, and they can make up to $700 as month with free room and board. TP supports this type of action, in where they actually work for the clubs ensuring the GI's pay's for drinks if a dispute arises, and they have been known to kick out customers out of clubs, who are just in the club, just chilling and not buying drinks. The owners will call TP, and ask these folks to be kick out of the clubs for not buying drinks. I recently found out that, one of the TP folks just got a gril pregnat in Atown, and the owners wanted him to pay for the contract. Will he stated, he could have this club shut down, if they dont let the girl go back home. TP council brought this up in their weekly meeting...the TP guy was fired, but was put on flight...what did he get a LOC for having relationships with a Atwn girl, which is against the law, in refernce to the Lt Davis incident in 2004. I have always been against the Atown scene...i do not go there anymore, i use to go there alot, but i have stopped, due to the information i recieved about TP. I encourged everyone to go to Kunsan city to drink instead...so much in 2004 i got with my buddy Kieth (a korean national who now owns 4 clubs in Kunsan city), and we got a new club that caters to Americans called A-club...this club became such a hit in 2005, it was shut down due to all kinds of bullshit...alot of it was true though, but who caused most of the problems...COPS!! I've worked in A-club for a while during the rough times, and i threw out many of cops out of the clubs for wanted to fight with folks. the night the teacher was beat up, in the statements, they said that Kieth was offering them SOJU for free and stated...all you have to do now is beat this teacher up...Well now thats sounds good, the only problem with that is, that Kieth was with me in the Philippines that weekend. After we got back on that Sunday, he met up with the teacher in the hospital...and on tues we went to the base...!! so COPS knows how to bend the truth alot, they have alot of power in terms of information and whats released! |
