Long December in Kunsan Video

I guess it is poetic.

There are words for this. These words are included but not limited to dumb, lame, unimaginative, boring (which I am guessing it the point).

Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

Being away from home during the holidays is depressing for some if they don't
make a positive effort to find something to do other than mope around. Maybe he is an artist. Maybe not! His friend did a good job holding the camera still. O On a scale of 1 to 10, (10 being very good) I'll give him a 2.

Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

I stayed at Kunsan for one week and I couldn't leave faster. There is a reason why people travel almost 3 hours to shop at Songtan and enjoy Osan. For some reason, the USFK commanders have decided not to spend a penny on morale at Kunsan. Within 3 miles of the base is off-limits and the base is a ghost town. Just my opinion!

Cool Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

I haven't been there for many years. A friend recently told me it looked like a nice area to retire in, with all facilities near by. (Yes, I know, three miles may not be "Near-by" to some folks.)

So let's hear it from Kunsan Alumni or Inmates- does the video show the true picture of life at the Kun? We need both junior enlisted and officer opinions, to get a true picture!

Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

From the things i hear now days about the "KUN" thats probably the ho-hum attitude..

I was at the "KUN" 93-94 96-2000 was not that bad then.
But i probably used up all the fun while i was there...

Thumbs up Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

I was really hoping for something better...... More of the base, a happier GI, maybe. Talk about bad publicity. It just so happens that "Tops in Blue" would perform on Christmas day every year in Kunsan, until a year or 2 ago. anyone who believes that Kunsan is NOT the better of Osan and Kunsan is totally clueless.

Who are you!! We need more of folks like us. I would never choose Osan over the Wolfpack! I was a happy Kunsan resident in '87-'88, '98-'99, and '02-'03

Cool Re: Long December in Kunsan Video

OK-Thanks for more inputs!! I'm beginning to feel better about Kunsan, but still not feeling like I want to retire there yet!

Gut feelings make me think pilots might enjoy it more because they get to fly more? Not just man a desk and fly once a week as at their last job?

Is it the support folks who work 12 hours a day who have less enjoyment locally? Can they get time off to go to recreation spots in country or out?
Does Kunsan really rock? Dare we ask?
Some stay longer-there must be a ville; are all the 18 year old kids marrying Filipinos like at Camp Red Cloud and Casey? Or are the old timers coming back with their Korean wives and staying a few tours?

Lets hope to hear from more present or recent wolfpack members.
Maybe even a feminine viewpoint?
