Thanks for the info. Sorry, I've been pretty busy so missed the post until just now, but I may look into that.

Not sure if I want to come back after hearing some the horror stories... I'll be there in Jun. When I was there I lived off base as a E4. TSgts could drive and from time to the base was locked down too. I lived in Kunsan City while many people lived in A-Town or Rainbow Village. I was there in 97 and there were problems with the girls from the PI, Russia, Indonsia (sp.. it's WV thing?!?), fights, bad QOL etc... but I think its what you make of it...
When I frst saw a thing about the new dorms I thought it would be cool.. when I was there people who lived in dorm had a roommate, shared bathroom with 3 other people, one laundry room and one kitchen... would like to find more pics though... I've done google search but haven't really found anything great...
For those currently there, has anyone heard of Slingbox? Thought about getting one setup before I leave... not sure though...

new dorms are for airman only. no e-5 or up has a roommate, i can even tell you about your dorm if you tell me what squadron. never heard of slingbox

35th FS, but being a 3A, I'm sure they could put me just about anywhere... Slingbox is something more for married people. You hook it up to home tv and computer back home and you watch normal tv on your computer/tv anywhere in the world. For example we have Dishnet at home, so I would be able to watch normal tv in korea, not just afn!!!

I'm not an expert on NCO dorms, but I know I'm jealous of my supervisors. They have it a lot better than I do, what with the mold and all.

Kunsan has it's lame points. The hooches have some new rules right now that make them pretty lame (mostly with the serving of alcohol). But hey, alcohol is alcohol. I miss my wife like no other, but am also enjoying myself. The rules may have changed, but people are still people and we find our ways to get by.

Slingbox works for anyone who has a friend who will plug it in and leave his computer on back in the world.
You can watch international TV on your computer screen anywhere if you go to http://mediahopper.com you may need to also download mediaplayer and quicktime for good speed and full screen. I watch Canadian and US stations,and there are Spanish and other languages, too. There are always other ways to do it on the net! Ask me if you get bored, or can't make mediahopper work for you.

If you have a mold problem, call your bioenviromental engineers at Osan and report it as a health safety problem! there is always a way!

Do you know how the dorms are for an E-4 in Vehicle Maintenance dorms? Is it two people in one room or two people share a bathroom? Also, How is the internet in the dorms at Kunsan?

LRS occupies the 3rd and 4th floor of my building.
As it stands right now, they are two to a room. I think many of the SrA have their own room (sharing a bathroom), but I'm not positive about that. I don't go upstairs very often.
But basically, don't be surprised if you have a roomie.

Actually, all LRS E-1 thru E-4 share a room. Internet..well, we have it. They claim it is a 2MB connection, but you'd be lucky to get 512Kb. Don't even think about getting the 5 or 15MB package...waste of money.
Plan on a move toward the end of your tour to other dorms so that your building can get renovated. I wouldn't expect LRS moving into the new dorm anytime soon.

PS...I am in the LRS, so this is first had knowledge.
