Re: Human Trafficking, and the Wolf Looks the other way...
I agree with Mike. These girls know what they are getting involved with. Some of them have been to different villes here in Korea multiple times. One girl down here told me she used to work in Songtan. She went back to the PI came back and went to work outside Camp Carroll until some contractor bought her out of the bar and married her.

Re: Human Trafficking, and the Wolf Looks the other way...
Ya know....some people here are saying the girls know what they're getting in to...Yeah SOME girls do but other girls are PUSHED & RAISED to do this kinda job...and since this is all they know how to do...they're gonna do it to the best of their ability! They don't know any better...so you can't really blame them..even if they are an adult & can make decisions on their own..it don't matter...the juicy girls know this is the only & best way to make money.
As for the US Goverment getting involved.....They should Prohibit any GIs from going into A-Town or any place that has an Large population of Juicy Girls..or is known as "Juicy City" or whatever name we servicemen give certain areas. I have no idea why some people here think it's just the Host Country's problem.....but it's be YOUR OWN problem when you get an STD(Yeah..I said it..Condoms ain't 100%!). Then when you get back to the states your spouse/girlfriend is going to wonder what's that rash/wart you got near your groin-area...and I don't think the "Toilet Seat" excuse is going to work..... What the US Government can do is EDUCATE GIs more..and not by just saying.."This Weekend stay away from the Juicy Girls!"...That's not neough because some GIs may not know who is or how a juicy girl is suppose to look or act...Or How a Juicy Girl became a juicy girl in the 1st place. So if they show the GIs the REALITY of that..then maybe they'll think twice before contributing to Prostitution, The spread of STDs & cheating on their spouse/girlfriend. |

Re: Human Trafficking, and the Wolf Looks the other way...
I just wanted to add that these girls do know what they are signing up for. I mean honestly, why would they think they would have a singing career in Korea when they are singing in English...
I know a bar owner who has juicy girls under her ownership and she told me that all the girls know...personally, I feel that the girls use that story to gain pity from single GI's. |

The "Wolf" can only warn the men by informing them of the bad consequences that may occur if they become intimate with girls from any source. Military are subject now to courts martial and discharge.
The American Male, civilian or military, is responsible for his own actions. He is the one who must decide if the risk is worth the trouble. It is a male trait to play with fire and live on the edge of danger. They are programmed that way by nature. The government spends time and money explaining these consequences. I'd like to think they all receive adequate warning. If the Overseas Country's government cooperates to help prevent the human trafficking and exposure to disease, then God Bless them. If they don't do much, oh well. Read again- YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS! That is the bottom line. Using the OFF- LIMITS tool is used as a last resort, in an effort to deter some from danger. It does no more good than a red traffic light does: just a warning. |

Re: Human Trafficking, and the Wolf Looks the other way...
I'm sorry, but making A-town or Itaewon, or Songtan off-limits is not the solution. Like Mr. Joe said, be responsible for your own actions. This is more of the same, like curfew being for "force protection" instead of the real reason, which is control. Sorry, just bitter.

Re: Human Trafficking, and the Wolf Looks the other way...
I completely agree with that. Control.
The Wolf shouldn't do anything. The US government shouldn't do anything. It's called personal responsibility, and it's about time they start letting us use it. I don't buy juices and I don't go off base to party. I simply want to be treated like an adult, and with Town Patrol standing around waiting for us to screw up, I will not enjoy myself. I have nothing to hide but I'm offended by the need of having a babysitter nearby. It's not nearly as much for our protection as they'd have us believe. Especially here at A-Town. Give me a break. |

You're right. These girls know all about what they are getting into. The one person you can listen to and trust is a bar owner with girls under her "ownership". Sounds like slavery to me. |
