Since this seems to be a common activity of mine, I've decided to put in my own hooch review and will update it as I go around. Just that sometimes, I can only get to a few before the world sways and have to call it a night...which isn't a bad thing. Working on a map as I keep forgetting where they are...I am blaming it on the beer!



Afterlife (LRS)
FIRST IMPRESSION: A little out there, but boy is this a big hooch...2nd largest for occupancy
Known for their themed parties and best Haunted House on base. Hawaiian Luau should be the event to be at! A/C and heating as it is fully enclosed.

Well stocked liquor cabinet and able to make 90% or better of drinks with FAST bartenders!


DEFENDER'S DEN (SFS)
FIRST IMPRESSION: Largest hooch on base..188
Dim...rowdy...cops
Look for the "word of the day" before you open your pie hole at the bar. Wish they didn't use red postal permanent ink for their stamp. Everyone knows that you were at their hooch on Monday.

Need to check the fridge that holds their Bud Light. Seems to not be cooling it. I HATE WARM BEER!

Seems to have a fully stocked bar. Nice well placement as it is easy to see. They have a Jeager chiller....does it work?

DEVIL'S DEN (CES)
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Everyone says that it is the place to be, but honestly, the only reason why I see so many people there is because of location...location is the largest reason why it is frequented by so many people. Having access to all the building supplies and builders, you'd better have a top notch hooch.
Better get HVAC out on the fridges again...yet another warm beer place.
Get Pest Management to spray your area for mosquitoes better....and hit all the hooches while you are at it....expecially the COMMPound and MXS!

I think there is a pool table there in the back room.

3 votes for Jeager bombs???!!!! It's a hooch, not a high class night club! If it's $1.25 per "vote," than a bomb is $3.75???

COMMPound (CS)
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Again, located near dorms so business will be good.

SERVICE: My opinion...sucks...really slow. Does it really take 20 mins to serve a beer? If you don't know the server, than service is slow and line cutting is really bad....because service is slow.

Haven't figured out cost yet because everytime I get a beer it is different. Sometimes two rips, sometimes one....hmmmmm....get it figured out there guys.

LCDs all over the place...nothing really on them...but then it's COMM...
Minimal seating inside, and A/C & heat is/will be a problem with roll up door...not to mention mosquitos everywhere...even inside

Bands pack the place when they are there, which is everytime I have been there.

Bathroom (meaning one) sucks! When you got to pee, you got to pee!


CHIEF'S DEN
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Hint: You must wear a hat into the hooch! Small and quiet hooch. Nice get away if you're invited in.

ENTERTAINMENT
This is where you go to "not be entertained."
Laid back atmosphere. Lots of history on the "Chief's Wall."

BEVERAGES
What ever is in the fridges. Usually beers from around the world.

DRAGONS' (MXS)
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Quite large, but music is overpowering. Prompt service with a smile. Haven't figured out costs so if you know it, let me know.

ENTERTAINMENT
Pool table...haven't played on yet
Seats and tables throughout and space to stand.
New speakers.
BRING BUG SPRAY if you want to smoke!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Cozy if you are a broom. Award for the smallest hooch on the base, but I hear Stool is even smaller. Good decor

Bar controlled MP3 music.
Was suffering from clautrophopia to get a good read at this hooch...deserves another visit to get a fair Conde Nast rating.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Nice laundry room.
Actually this has potential for being a better hooch for one of the largest squadrons. Good pool table placement.

Hell, I haven't even found this one. Walked to Teague and still didn't find it.
Will have to do a recon msn and get a write-up on this one.

outstanding review on the hooches...i dont go to hooches..but i have known about them for some time..never knew what they had or contained..thanks again for this excellent post on the hooches!!!

the COMMpound seems to have if figured out these days.

1 Pull for domestic beers, 2 for others (Corona, etc...)
Mixed drinks are 2 I think. Service has been good lately. Never much of a wait anymore. At least for me.
