Japanese School uses portable video game to teach English

The portable video game Nintendo DS is now being used as a key player in education, breaking the traditional methods Japanese scholars use.
The students use the pen of plastic following the voice of the electronic "virtual teacher". And a big advantage is that the video game keeps teaching English at home because it’s portable.
I think it’s fun to be able to study while amusing but I don’t think it will spread. Imagine going to learn Italian in Italy or enrol in a Sprachreisen Brisbane and have a computer teaching you languages! For that you would study at home.

Actually, the cool thing about the DS is that someone finally figured out how to hack it so you can install Darn Small Linux. I will be getting one specifically for that shortly.
