I've taken Taekwondo! I was a 2nd Degree black belt. Can't say I am now since I cannot even lift my leg above my waist!
It's a great form of martial arts...very universal. Only problem I've had with it over the years is that it seems to be evolving into a more commercial, money-making, fitness/sport rather than learning how to kick butt. But, of course, that is not true for the ROK special forces...those guys are crazy! I've also taken Hapkido...that was fun! I was always fascinated of how our master was able to put people into submission using the most simplest techniques; making them tap out and scream like a b*tch. Oh! And you know how we watch Seagal movies and he's always flipping people, we usually go, "Ah, what a bunch of crap!"...it's not, though! Somehow our Master really had a way of shifting our weight to make us go flying into the air. It really confused me...I was never able to master that skill.Last edited by eddiev9 : 03-04-2006 at 12:18 AM. |

I am also a 2nd degree black in Tae Kwon Do under Master Hong, Song Yun out of Los Angeles. It is a wonderful art but it's limited.
I like the picture....

I liked Hapkido better, though...it was fun. The master was an old, funny man, and very dangerous! |
