I congratulate you on third degree sir, a great accomplishment.
I favor the grounds game myself. I am a grappler by nature, Gold medalist
here in Seoul at the 1987 KAIAC tournament. Now I assist with Spirit Martial Challenge. Next fight is April 28 at Jang Chung Gymnasium. I would be honored if you came sir.

Definitely agree! I'd say 90% of my fights ended up on the ground. From there on I go for submission. People usually tend to go for the pounding trying to put on a show and don't expect submission holds.

What's that move where you have the guy's head and one arm between your legs and squeeze? I used that once...thought I was going to get my butt kicked, but the guy just passed out suddenly. Good thing he did or I would have gotten power-bombed on pavement as he tried to lift me up!

It's called the triangle submission, very effective if you pull the head down properly. Good job on that submission.

"Triangle Submission"...got it! Thanks!
It was pure dumb luck, though. It was a failed attempt at an arm bar.

Way to go getting the famous 'triangle' choke! That's a good one! I wish I was a lot better at getting it myself (and out of them for that matter LOL).

TaekwonDo in America, is by and large, watered down, compared to how it is mainly taught here in Korea. A third degre black belt is a great accomplishment my friend! Congratulations! Taekwondo mainly lacks in the areas of groundfighting, most of which, completely lacks in any form of ground training, making the style a lot harder to adapt to a real street fight. However, if you can keep your distance and force the fight to go your way, then you should have no problems!

Also, I will post up some of my stories about Bruce Lee since that seems to be a popular topic here so far!

Thanks! I swear...I thought I was going to get my butt kicked that night. I was small high school kid going up against one of those (what we commonly referred to as) "big black GI's" . I was just overwhelmed with too much muscle. I just kept clinging onto the guy while he kept saying, "What?! Get off me, b*tch!" Next thing I knew he was trying "ground-pound" me and I just held on to one of his arms with my life while trying to get my leg over his head. Next thing I knew I was up in the air about to get slammed, and then suddenly........ It was pure silence from the crowd. One guy asked, "Is he dead?" Seconds later, the guy got up, completely unaware of what just happened. "LET'S GET THE OUT OF HERE!" I said...and ran off with my friends. Funny thing is...all this lasted less than a minute.

I'm no expert on Bruce Lee...this is just stuff I collected over the years in documentaries and books. But, let's not forget...

Bruce Lee was a man who never backed down from a challenge and (by the word of documentaries) never been beaten (otherwise, it'd be front page news since a reward was offered to whoever beats this man, publicly).

This is a man who openly stated, "...I can take on any man in this world." With that said, I'd imagine a whole line of people were in line to challenge him. Yet, there isn't a confirmed case that someone has beaten him.

He had all sorts of challengers from all types of martial arts.

These were real fights with no rules...not sparring matches or sporting events where you rack up points and be judged.

Eye witnesses report his punches and kicks were so fast and precise, the challenger who got hit in the face would be knocked out cold before even losing his balance and hitting the floor.

His fights lasted less than a minute...where a majority of time was just tormenting/toying with his opponent.

Anyway,...I've always wondered what it'd be like if he were here today (not still alive, but living our time at his prime--Heck! He'd be a grandpa by now!...but probably still in good shape).
Well, I don't think Bruce can survive a minute with Mike Tyson.

Hello, anthony. Welcome to the forum!

Mike Tyson did kick @ss in the boxing ring; everyone knows that. But in a Pride FC type of fight, I'd think his skills would be limited; probably would have ended up tapping out a lot. Therefore, in a real fight, I think he would lose against Lee.

But, hey, everyone's got their own opinions, right?
