BJJ in Wonju

Hey guys, I'm PCSing to Camp Long this October and I just wanted to know if there are any Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools in Wonju or near Wonju. Let me know if there are schools like a hour away too. If it comes down to it, I can just train on the weekends. Thanks guys!

Where is Wonju located? How far away from Seoul? The army guys up there roll and have some experienced guys on the mat there. I don't know how far you are from Osan AB, but we have a Purple belt, two blues, and a couple of really good white belts here. Down in Camp Humpheys there is a purple belt, if I am correct, and one talented blue belt. Down in Kimhae, there is a Purple belt as well.

That sounds pretty good. Let me know when you guys start training on the weekends. I'm just a SrA, so i'm not allowed to have a poc in korea. There is no way i can get to osan during the week just to train.

Re: BJJ in Wonju

Its good there's BJJ in Korea, I was a little worried.. I'm a blue belt looking for others to roll with, any level. I saw most of the posts on this thread were from 6 months or so ago. Anyone still around that wants to train? I arrive in April 2007, and will be in town for a year..

I'm going to Osan. I got my blue about a year-and-a-half ago from Claudio Franca / Mike Weaver / Doug Livingston in Santa Cruz, CA. I'm finishing up the Korean Basic Course at DLI, and will be there early April.
