If your coming to Korea, and your Aviation (officer or Enlisted) chances are you'll be heading to 2 CAB (Combat Aviation Brigade).

I have more questions.

1. What size bed is in the barracks?
2. I know that they come furnished, but are their any furniture items that I might want to bring to make it more comfortable?
3. All the pictures I see still have soldiers in BDU's, is it because the websites aren't updated or should I bring BDU's along with my ACU's?
4. What's the weather going to be like at the end of Feb so I know what to wear?

1. You start off with a single bed, but if you get to know the supply people you can upgrade to a full size. (thats what I did)

2. You basically get a 12x12ish room that comes with a full fridge, microwave and aplace to wash dishes that is shared. When I got to my room, people had left enough dishes, and other kitchenware that I did not need to buy anything. If you have a TV bring it, or if you want to buy a TV they have plenty here at the PX. I would have brought a nice pillow, the pillows they have at the PX are extremly basic.

3. BDU's are authorized until May 08, so bring what you want.

4. It will be cold when you get here, high 30's maybe? Clothes are abundent downtown and cheap.

Well, I have 3 weeks left before I fly out. Any advice you guys can give me to make the transition smooth would be greatly appreciated.

Make a reservation at the Dragon Hill lodge for the night you get there, that way you will have a close room and will not have to go downtown, secure it with a credit card just in case you get in late.

Also if you can get here on a friday night get the room for the weekend so you don't have to stay downtown all weekend..It's getting cold ans snowy here.

Hi.. I'll be with HHC, 2CAB 2ID in November.

Do most people live on post or off post? whats the better option? And how far is Humphreys from Seoul/Incheon? Is it easy to get there by bus/train?

I'm thinking of shipping my POV over and I'm wondering if thats a good idea.

I wouldn't count on coming to HHC. We are seriously overstrength and they are sending people out to the BNs. I went outside Seoul today and it took over an hour, of course I was in an LMTV.
