Vinyl = impossible to find near Osan.
If you manage to find a shop elsewhere than it most likely won't have what you're looking for unless you spin techno... than you have to worry about the language barrier and finding the right music. My suggestion is that you stock up before you come to Korea. As far as illegal mixing. It doesn't matter if you have another job so long as you have it approved. If you decide to spin at a club for money/drinks without approval you honestly don't have too much to worry about, I know plenty of AD bartenders that work for drinks. No biggy-- really.

I mostly do techno anyway, so it would be cool to pick up some really foreign stuff to bring back to the states later. I'll just hook up with one of the linguists that I'll be working with for the language barrier thing. Hopefully that'll work...I'm definitely going to ship some stuff too just in case.

Well...a good DJ has to have a hook, right? I'll just be DJ Nekid or something like that :-) I guess I should pack an article of clothing or two, though...

Yea Joe, I'm at Osan right now. You'll immediatly recognize that techno is the one music that is lacking off-base. It may seem unpopular with many, but I'm sure there's an audience out there waiting for it. I use to spin techno back in the day, DJ Flipr here!
 Though I only made it past the beat match.

Cool! Well...I'm not that great or anything. I just really love music and I've never been good at any other instrument :-) Hell...I don't even have a good DJ name yet...still throwin' around different ones, but they all seem pretty stupid. Of coures, I'm 35, so it looks kinda funny with me up there spinnin' for house parties anyway. Do you still spin at all? I'll be there in about a month and I'm bringing my gear. I'm sure I'll throw a house/apartment/dorm room warming party, so I'll be sure to give you the invite.
