Re: New Members please read!

Hi, I'm an Army wife, new to this forum and to Korea. I was very happy to find this forum. Please, don't kick us off if we don't post without asking if we're ready to opt-out. I've only logged on a couple of times, but I love reading the posts and don't often have anything to contribute (or sometime the time with 2 young kids and a lot of volunteering). Somthing about OPSEC would be good, though.

Maybe we should also add a little part of practicing good OPSEC, too, though. We've got quite a few military personnel and we don't want too many people asking specifics, right?

I'm not sure if this is a great idea or not, but should there be a penalty for non-posting members? I notice many other communities, forums, etc. have rules as if you do not post anything for some period of time, you get a warning. Then eventually your account is deactivated (or is that going on now?).

Cool Re: New Members please read!

Welcome Solenforcer! Hope you are coming to "Sole"! Maybe not. So keep us posted as to your arrival! So far all we know about you is your zodiac sign.
Look around the site, drop some questions on us in an appropriate area. We are a nice bunch of folks! We usually act like adults, and that seems to be something special to many people who have seen too much name calling and wierd antics on some forums. We are definitely here to help each other get through a Korean Tour with minimum stress, and to leave with a good taste in your mouth! I am proud to be a part of the forums!

BJGoogle- Welcome- look forward to your visit!
Let us help you with your first encounter with Korea. It is a little frightening to arrive in a country that is actually poorly prepared to take care of foreigners with anything resembling helpful accomodation. Unless you are met by your company and someone in the party speaks English, it can be very discouraging.
Koreans are mostly very friendly and overly helpful, if you can get them to understand what you want. We'll show you how to prepare for culture shock.
