How's It Going?
Well hello everyone. I don't know if this is the right place for me. Most of the people seem to be involved in the military. I'm definitely not. I'm Canadian in fact, 29, and have been living in Seoul for the past 6 years as a teacher. Anyway, I was referred to this site so that's why I'm here. Hope it's the right place for me and hope I could make some new friends. My last western left Korea a few monts ago so I don't know any other foreigners right now. I do have plenty of good Korean friends so I don't really have anything to complain about but it would be nice to speak with others who share the same culture and beliefs. So that's my story. Hope I' not making a fool of myself. Take care all of you and hope to talk to you soon.

Hi, sebby! You are more than welcome to hang out here. You don't have to be military, American, or Korean...you can be a Ferengi and it wouldn't matter.

Feel free to share your ideas and opinions with us. We can learn a lot from one another.

BTW, you mentioned you have a lot of Korean friends. It'd be interesting to hear some of their opinions, too. Why don't you invite some of them to join up?

Believe it or not we have a few teachers on here. Also, our top posters are not military. They are civilians (not counting me).

We do welcome you and your inputs! We are a mixed group, and fairly civilized. No subject is too much for us to tackle, and we manage to do it in a lot of ways. Often we agree to disagree, but always have fun and let even unpopular ideas run through the wringer. Tons of information and opinion. Whether any of it is of value is a personal judgement, I suppose. Most of us (not all) have indicated where or who we are in our introductory page, which can be accessed by clicking on our "names" beside our avatar.

So bring your friends and lets all learn about each other. A new teacher just arrived to teach in Inchon on Sunday, from my home town area back in West Virginia. Welcome Al Pope, and wish him luck. I know he would love to talk to you, as he has never been to Korea before!

I'm a military dude...and i got to say...some of the best individuals i have met over the years here in Korea and the Philippines have been from Canada....also teachers as yourself. If you have a chance...drop by Seoul Pub on a payday weekend(Yes i lived payday to payday...only have money 2 times a month)...if you recognize meby my picture...just get my attention, and let me know that you are a member of USFK forum and ill buy you a round of beers or drinks on me!
