Welcome Supajap!
I tried to find out what the "Halla" was that you wanted us to give you. My dictionary was clueless. I found Halloween, halo and halucinogin, but can't give you any of those until October 31! (Halloween!) The only Canadian words I know are city and Province names and " Eh?" My good friend Dave, a former University teacher, is Canadian. He Has the Computer Shop and mail room "I Solutions" in Itaewon. Anyway, come on in and enjoy! Your profile didn't tell much beyond age, sex, and country, so we wonder if you are teaching school somewhere in backwoods Korea, as most all non-military foreigners do? No need to tell all right away, just get settled in and enjoy our photo gallery and familiarize with our great site! Go to the Lounge to ask questions that don't fit elsewhere. You may look around at the ESL Blogs for teacher stuff, but you will find we cover a lot of good subjects here, and behave ourselves pretty well. |

I hope you don't scare off SUPAJAP!
What does a Texan know about Canadian slang? More than I do, for sure! I was raised up a "holler" in West, By Gosh, Virginia. After the Canadian Nuns came to teach us in the Catholic School, I learned a lot. I learned that a holler was really a hollow, a valley between two ridges. And that fish was pronounced fish, with a short i, not "feesh". But ah hain't never seen nor heerd anyone say "Give me holla" afore. So to make a long story short, I have the greatest respect for Canadians! They almost destroyed my hillbilly accent, but the memories are still there. They made a genuine country boy into a state champion speller and a pretty good wordsmith. God save the Queen and the Canadians! |

Re: whats up!!!
Fresh out of the University-we'll forgive you! I love Toronto. Hope when Greenland splits and the water comes up it doesn't flood too badly!
There is a girl who is in Import/Export who posts occasionally. I may think of her name later. If you get to Itaewon look up Dave at the I Solutions Computer shop directly across from McDonald's. Up by Marrakesh. |
