Coming to Osan in Late November
Hi all, I am inbound to Osan at the end of November and I am excited to get out there. Can anyone tell me if there are guitar lessons or a shop in Songtan? Also, what are the best areas to live off base? I cant wait to get there.

Welcome to the site!
There are two guitar shops in Songtan. Their is a large one on the main strip called Peace Music I believe and a small acoustic place called Mr Potato. There are a few people on this site that play guitar. Hopefully, one will pipe in soon. Mike

Re: Coming to Osan in Late November
As for a good place to live, it depends on how far from base you want to live. I have a friend who is staying in a complex that has a lot of foreigners. They have very nice rooms for the price. I think it is called the Rosarium. There's also a new place that just built. Another friend of mine just moved in this week. It is a bit farther and not all shops are opened yet.

Re: Coming to Osan in Late November
One of the guitar shops use to offer lessons. Not sure now. Most of the guitars throughout the world are made in Korea. Several large factories are located in Incheon. Nak won dong in Seoul, near the US embassy, has a large number of music shops and a million music instruments for sell. If you don't aready have what you really want you will be able to get a great price there.

Yep...and he still does. He makes some really cool looking custom guitars too. Welcome to the site, and if you have any questions about how to find things on here, just let me know.

And legitimate vintage guitars (which already cost an arm and a leg) will probably cost a little more here than in the States because they are so hard to come by here. |

Wow! A blast from the past! Anybody have a link to Mr. Potato Head's site?
Much appreciated.
