First Post - Introduction
Hello and thanks for allowing me to join! I am retired US Army (1978) and served a total of six years in Korea between 1958 - 1976. My last assignment in Korea was as a military intelligence liaison at the Defense Attache Office, US Embassy in Seoul. I have been married twice; my first wife was Korean and she passed away in 1997. She was a wonderful person. My present wife is also Korean, and she too is a wonderful person. We married in 1999, and live in Indiana. We subscribe to KBS and Arirang Satellite TV and try to keep up with the news in Korea. I last visited Korea in 1988 during the Seoul Olympics. I hope to learn more about current events in Korea through this site. Thanks again!

Hi! Welcome to the forum! I'm from Indiana (near South Bend) so I thought I'd say hello. I've been at Camp Humphreys for almost 2 weeks now and so far I love it!!
I hope you find all that you're looking for here. It's been a very helpful site for me. I hope you have a great weekend!

Re: First Post - Introduction
Thanks for your welcoming note. I live in Jasper, in SW Indiana. Hope you enjoy your stay in Korea. I haven't been there since 1988, so I'd probably experience severe cultural shock. I still remember living in straw-thatched one room homes with the little building outside. Back then you were a rich American if you made $300.00 a month.

Wow! Yep it's really different. Our apartment is very nice. We live on the 12th floor and have a washer and dryer, dishwasher, heated floors, lights that come on automatically...lol. We love it!! I wouldn't have come if I had to live in a one room, thatched roof building:o)
