It may appear to you that, since there is no war for 50 years, that the life here is easy. The Korean War never ended, we are under armistice conditions. (Temporary suspension of hostilities by agreement between the opponents.) The possibility of resumtion of fighting is always there. All military continue to train to fight, and keep physically fit. Training and war games can be a full time job, trust me. Some of us are sent to where other wars are, such as Iraq. So it is not all fun. We do have enjoyable times, of course, and nearly all the conveniences of home. Being in the Far East makes it convenient to visit exotic places. I was in Japan a few months ago, and am planning to visit China soon.
its jinny, my korean name is ji eun , so shortly it is jinny

i watched that movie called GI Jane, with demi moore, as she went thru intensive
militaryt training. But in reality, is military training really hard?, have to wake up
5am, or do push ups or run for miles, etc? do those movies portray correclty?
how do women in military survive, can girls do those stuff too? I think inpossible.

That movie did not show your average military. She was trying out for the elite Navy special forces called the SEALS. Only a few people in the navy are fit or tough enough to make that unit.

In the Air Force we do exercise 3 times a week. At my unit we exercise from 645 AM to 0800. We do push ups, sit ups and run 3-4 kilometers. That is the minimum. Some units do more.
