Hi from Daegu
Just thought i would introduce myself. Have been just over a month, still trying to get used to it (any tips would be great!)!!! I'm teaching English in a local school.
Am really glad i found this page as it seems to have some useful info on but just wishing I had found it a bit earlier!!!! |

Welcome! We have some knowledgeable folks on most every subject, just sometimes we expound on someone else's area without knowing it!
I love to talk to the teachers, and we have some smart ones here. Korea is a fun place, even if you have never taught before! Hopefully, you will make sure the Koreans understand the American spelling as well as British! Many teachers don't seem interested in helping out with spelling, as they say their time is so limited, and they are hired to teach conversation. Personally, I think they just do not know the difference between "their", "they're", "there" and "your" and "you're". You will have fun, and we will attempt to help you understand the strange customs that you will encounter. After you settle in, write down some of your experiences, and we may have another essay contest again soon! We have some hints for learning Korean writing should you desire. I recommend it highly if you are staying over one year. |

Welcome- maybe you folks can start a teachers' union! We are curious about teachers experiences! Let us in on your blogs, etc! Maybe we need a teachers' forum?
