Greetings from Daegu.
Hey all. I just discovered this site and it seems like a wonderful community. I'm teaching at a local school here in Daegu. Just arrived about 3 weeks ago so I'm still learning the language, the geography and lifestyle. All I know is that it's "mani dupda"...

Welcome to the Forum- Let's see- A young, educated Canadian boy with a Chinese name, beginning a teaching career in Daugu, and already able to say it is "Very hot" in Korean.
You are off to a good start, my son. I say - talk to my friend who is teaching up at the English Village just North of Seoul to get a good idea of how things go in the teaching business. He is alpope@yahoo.com. This is his second year teaching in Korea. He likes it a lot. He has a great blog, also. I taught some years ago in Seoul, along with my military career. Best of luck. Read the English teachers blogs to find out about the ways some schools are not always honest with their teachers. Get everything in writing. Be wary if your paychecks are late. Let us know how you are doing-send photos after you get settled, and our Gallery gets working again! |
