Thanks for the compliment! Actually, you need to go to Korea Town near Gardena and find a Korean book store. Don't spend money on CD's or expensive books-you will never do it that way. Get a small book with the alphabet for children. Best to make a Korean friend to learn proper pronounciation. Even being Chinese-American wont help. learning to read Korean takes maybe 3 days.
Learning to mouth the words as fast as they go across the TV screen takes at least a year. (Sit close and wear your glasses.) Learning to understand what each word (consisting of small groups of characters) means and then understanding the meaning of the whole sentence may take you longer than your patience allows. Chinese love Korean movies and soap operas, too, and they have put in Chinese sub-titles! My advice-learn Mandarin Chinese-they may well be the economic world leader in your generation! Definitely in your childrens generation. Even if they continue to have only two children in each family... Last edited by Mr. Joe : 09-18-2007 at 10:37 PM. |

Re: n00b from los angeles
Also as a side note if you go to Korea town you can get movies and Korean soaps with english, Chineese or Japaneese subtitals
