Just arrived in Seoul
Hey all! My name is Nathan. I'm coming on two weeks in Korea, but I've just settled in. I'm looking to meet people and find good groups/activities.

Welcome naboeger! It's OK to be from CA! Lived at Vandenberg AFB for 8 years myself! Seoul is where it is! (The computer club is every month, second Saturday; I added their website on my last Computer Club announcement.) Lots to do and see! To give you good info it would be nice to know if you have access to Yongsan Army Garrison. More familiar things for you to do there. If not, we can also tell you what to do downtown and around Korea.
So far we only know you like boxing and poker! Play poker with our local "Doctor" and he will break you in slowly on life in Seoul! |

Re: Just arrived in Seoul
Joe,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm excited to be here! I'm close to, and have access to Camp Kim and Gate 1, I think it is. I live near Samgakji station. Distance or easy subway access is important since I don't yet have wheels. I'm a bit of a computer geek and am struggling with the basics of the language here. Other than that I have a wide range of interests - A nice way of saying I'm master of nothing and mediocre at everything. Nathan Quote:

Re: Just arrived in Seoul
Hi Nathan,
Welcome to Seoul!! Lots of stuff to do around town. Some great live music playing everywhere. Some nice restaurants, cafes, etc. The USO canteen isn't too shabby. I like going there once in a while. That's pretty close to you. There are many clubs around town. I can give you a little tour of Yongsan Electronics Market, if you want me to. They've got computers everywhere there! I know a wee bit of Korean and am good at bartering. (Though, I know very little about computers~I know much more about guitars.) The Subway is very convenient. Get yourself a T-money pass at your local convenience store and put some cash on it. You'll save some money that way. In any event, get a hold of me if you want me to show you around. BTW, I don't drink very much, just thought you should know. Cheers! Mr. Yvon Malenfant Seoul www.harpo.ca
