Welcome txrocker!
I am also a Texas resident. I was not raised there, but switched over when I was stationed there. I look forward to hearing your experiences. I have always heard how Korea was different in the 70s and 80s and maybe some day you can tell us a few tales.

oh, yea, could i tell you a few things. korea was way differant then, more fun, but harder training, alot of no notice alerts. girls in the ville TDC wre kool, no problems, everything was cheaper, suits, liquer, no commissary tho. had to go to yongsan if you had a pass only. the DMZ missions were a joy, we would follow each other at nite, us and NK, sometimes got into firefight. thanksgiving 85 they fired over the border when russians defected, we got there and 4 min with 100 body bags and returned fire for 20 min. discovered the AK's were in hollowed out cement statuets. anyway. more later.

Yeah...the locals here in San Antonio are still weeping and nashing their teeth over this years poor performance. Being from Houston, I'm used to it ;-)

The Spurs did OK. I thought at that time that those were the 2 best teams and it is a shame they could not meet in the championship game.
