Is SSRT going to block Vonage?

At a CC call today, someone brought up a rumor I had not heard about yet. They said that on July 1st, SSRT was going to start blocking Vonage (or limiting the speeds so much that the service degrades so we stop using it) and other IP Phone services.

These guys are already ripping us off for substandard internet service (In the states I was paying $40 for three times the speed) I can't believe they think that would make many people happy. It's lovely to find out what new ways a monopolistic organization like AAFES can do to screw their customers.

"We go where you go" Yeah, because you have an exclusive contract to syphon off our paychecks free from competition. Oh, but they contribute to our morale services that they have to have to make up for all the nonsense they put us through that lowers it in the first place.

SSRT's website states that they aren't intending on doing this. I heard from a reliable source at Osan that it has been a topic of conversation lately, but there is nothing but rumor at this point.

That would be terrible if they did that. It would show they are scared of competition and would use their monopoly on base to kill competition.

Please keep us informed. If this rumor does pan out to be true it think that sucks big time.

What competition do they have, in that arena? Nothing. We have to have them to use vonage. It would be a disaster IMO if they did that.

Either way, it would be stupid to do that. The people on base need them to use vonage. They will get there money for the internet service. They have made $120 off me for a phone line (for 1 year) and i have never used there phone service.
