Hi, my name is Jennifer and I stumbled onto this forum looking for info on non command sponsored family info for someone on another forum. I am here in Yongsan and have been here for a year now. We are command sponsored, my husband is Navy but works for USFK.
Anyway, I refered this forum to the person I am helping out so hopefully she will join as well because I have no idea what is done to bring a family that is NCS to Korea.
So, I am a 36 yr old SAHM mom and I am also a Navy veteren. My dh and I have 2 boys that are 10 and 8. I am from Texas, dh is from Oregon, we met in NAS Lemore, CA and been married for nearly 12 years! Like I said we have been here for a year, orders are for 2 years but my dh put in for an extension and it was approved so we will be here till Feb 2010 for a total of 3 years. Dh has been in the Navy officially for 14 years but as pay goes he's been in for nearly 16 years. He had gotten out for a year and half while I was still active duty but after I had my first son I decided to not reenlist and he went back in.
This is the first time I have ever been overseas. I shore duty my entire short enlistment of 3 years. So it's been an adjustment and an adventure and I am glad to be here for 2 more years!
