New Here and visiting Osan AB area in Feb
Hi there,
I have found your forums very informational. My daughter and I will be visiting Song-Tan in February. We are civilians and will be having visits with my grandchildren whose Father is stationed at Osan AB. I would appreciate any help in finding a good tourist hotel in Song-tan and also information on getting to the hotel from Incheon airport. We will only have visits with the kids after school weekdays and on weekends, so would also appreciate info on sightseeing and other things that would be safe for 2 women alone. Thanks ahead of time for any info. |

Re: New Here and visiting Osan AB area in Feb
Check this out for hotels:
http://www.usfkforums.com/osan-air-b...n-air-base.htm If you have a MIL ID then you can take the services bus from Incheon directly to Osan AB. Departure times are 0830, 1000, 1530, 1830, 2000, 2230. You can get your ticket at the USO counter which is located at Gate 14. When you come out of your gate, hang a right and it's all the way down on end on your left hand side. If you don't have a MIL ID follow these instructions from the www.osan.af.mil newcomers page: From Incheon International, you may also utilize the Korean Express Bus Service. It departs from Gate 7A every thirty minutes (from 0805- 2105) for Songtan and costs around 8,600 Won. At Gate 7A, look to your left, there is a booth where you can purchase your ticket. It is a purple bus that has "Airport Limousine" written on its side. Make sure you catch one that either has the name Pyongtaek or Osan AB written in the window. The bus will make several stops and you will get off at the Songtan Terminal. Most bus drivers will not accept dollars - only Won. They will not provide you change if you hand them a 10,000 Won bill. Ensure you have plenty of 1,000 Won notes per passenger in your household. To exchange dollars into Won, contact the USO/Joint Force Reception Center and they will advise you of the nearest ATM machine that will convert dollars into Won. Also, there is an ATM machine between Gates 11 and 12. You can take a cheap taxi ride to your hotel upon arrival at the Songtan bus terminal. Good luck and enjoy your stay! |
