Post "See, the nuke test worked!!"...

Following the nuclear experiment, authorities have been trying to gather regime support and elevate the nation’s pride arguing the nation had become a strong militaristic country. They proclaim, “The world is cooperating with us and is throwing their goods at us. In future, you will live well.”
That's from The Daily North Korea website article that quotes a source in North Korea.

I'd say the North Korean government is partly correct --- the regime can breathe a little easier, because the flow of goods has been turned back on to a higher level, but these locals who the government is trying to prevent trading in China and with each other and seeking cell phones shouldn't take comfort, because South Korea is the only nation willing to send a lot of resources into the North for nothing, and it can't pump in enough to help the society as a whole.

The article is a pretty interesting window into how the regime can never change, because it is too paranoid of the letting much of anything from the outside world come in to the people.
