Re: getting tats in korea

Last I recall, all USFK personnel are restricted from getting tattoos in country. If you aren't USFK then try Daegu, there are some great artists down there.

Re: getting tats in korea

As a tattoo freak myself and someone who spent far too much time with USFK my recomendation would be... don't. Save your money and get whatever you want done on mid-tour, thats what I did. Its safer, healther and I think Bob is correct about it being against regs.

Re: getting tats in korea

its massively ageist the rules, just like the fact that your not allowed to go to a Korean hospital (unless its an emergency ) getting your hair cut off base, and going to a korean pharmacy

Re: getting tats in korea

A couple of friends of mine went to a shop in TDC which apparently does good work. That might be a little out of the way for you but these guys drove up from Seoul because of the place's good rep. But, if you are military tattoo parlors might still be off limits.

Re: getting tats in korea

There is no maybe about it. Tattoo parlors are strictly off limits in the USFK. If you want a good case of Hepatitis C or worse, go right ahead, but the sanitation is absolutely not the same here when it comes to the vast majority of these places. Check out the information on www.usfk.mil and you will find all of the policies, off limits places, etc. etc. etc. that you need to know about before you get here

Re: getting tats in korea

I havn't heard of any reccomendations for any Tattoo parlors in Korea, but I have heard that most in Thailand are very good and sanitary. That is, if you're willing to shed a couple plane tickets.
