Cell Phone Service Plan
Hi All,
I just signed up for a service plan with SK Telecom right outside the base. The plan is 50,000 wons a month for unlimited call to the US and a few other countries, plus 250 minutes cell to cell in Korea. It is not a bad deal, but I had to buy one of their phone that supposedly will also work in with other service in the US. The only bad thing is that I had to dial an access number to make the call to the US. Quality is good though. I tried it last night already. For those of you who signed up for service like these, did the company ever asked for your order to verify your DEROS? BTW, supposedly the contract is at least for 6 months. I haven't given them my order yet, but I want to make sure it is alright first. I contacted security force and they told me to call OSI. They don't know the answer. If anyone had these experience please let me know before I contact OSI. Thank you. |

Re: Cell Phone Service Plan
Go ahead and call OSI, its a local call.
$50 a month may be OK with you, if you or your family like to talk all the time. I use the computer Yahoo Messenger with voice and a telephone card from the PX if I need to talk for some other reason. My home phone in Seoul is $6.00 per month if I don't talk long distance. I just don't see the need to pay $600 a year when I don't need to! |
