Churches near Osan?

Hello, I'm new to Osan, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good English-language protestant churches within walking distance from the gate. I haven't checked out the chapel on base yet, but I've found that in general, at least in the states, I prefer off-base churches. Thanks for the help! Cara

Re: Churches near Osan?

Now THAT is a darn good question. There's plenty of bar reviews on here, but not a whole lot on the other side of life. Hmmmm....

If you see some churches while you are walking around, please update this thread. I'll be there in a few weeks and I'm sure that I'll be looking for the same thing.

Welcome to the site too!

Re: Churches near Osan?

Hey --- was just reading this thread...and this is wayyyyy past the expiration date on this conversation, but that weblink for songtan baptist is no longer used. I found the one they do use now:

http://www.songtanbaptist.com

That church is next to Life apartments.

For what its worth & if you are still searching...

Cool Re: Churches near Osan?

Sort of a reminder that we might consider what this Christmas thing is all about-
The birth of Jesus Christ!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, A Happy Channuka or just a Good Holiday!

(What ever happened to joeninpo anyway?)

Re: Churches near Osan?

Another church that you might want to consider, and one that I know that hosts a lot of military folks from Osan is Mission Baptist, located not far from the main Songtan market.

http://www.missionbaptist.com/history.html is the url for their website, and I believe there are directions there. I know several people who go there, and *LOVE* it. I'm not sure if it's still going on, but when we left, there were a bunch of Mission folks that were meeting at the main gate at 7-7:30 ish on Friday evenings, and having prayer, then going out and doing some open air witnessing in the market district.

The Hospitality House sponsored by Cadence International is also a great place for Christians to get together, they have lots of stuff going on, and have praise and worship services on Saturday night. Bob and Stephanie C. are the missionaries on site, and they're great folks. The hospitality house is located out the main gate, to the left... follow the road down the hill, it's right there. You can also usually find flyers on the bulletin boards at the BX, and get info from the chapel.

I'm not sure what your feelings are about internet church, but a really awesome online church that we attended while in Korea, and still attend can be found at www.lifechurch.tv . Feel free to check out the website, they have archives of a lot of the sermons, and you can also download a bunch of their stuff on itunes. :)

HTH anyone now looking!

Dee :)

And yeah, JoeNinpo, if you're still around, you've probably already pcs'sed back to the U.S.... drop us an update! We miss you! :)
