"Renting" decoders and setting you up with expensive installation from AAFEES, and "Making" you get a Star Card are all part of a deal which is good for AAFEES. AAFEES gives a lot of money back to the troops, but schemes like these are just what I said. Schemes.
Any talk of OPSEC is baloney. Decoders are to be had or manufactured by anyone with the money. Proprietary ownership of the airways is impossible to enforce internationally, just like pirating movies, DVDs, and other media. Local TV stations "Pirate" local US Channels all over the world. I suspect the General will assist us in getting a better deal very soon. |
