Customs

Do you know if I can go through the military customs line when I arrive, even though I am a dependent?

Re: Customs

Yes you can, my wife and son did that when they came over.

Remember when you are coming to the customs area go to the far right, the last 2 customs boths are military.

Re: Customs

I wish I would have known there was a military section! When I arrived I had both kids and TONS of baggage. I was so lost and no one there to help me. Once they found out I was a military spouse, they helped me! :)

Hope you have an easy time on the flight and through customs!

Re: Customs

When I came in the military line looked like it had 100 people in it. So, I went through the regular line in less than 30 seconds.

We had the same experience, the military lines were insanely long, so we went through the civilian lines, and honestly, were still treated as military. You fill out a form prior to landing, and if I'm recalling correctly, I believe there's a place on it that you either list your occupation or check that you're military, and they went by that going through the lines. I could be off on the form however, someone who's arrived more recently may remember better than I do.

Either way, however, just be aware the military lines aren't always the shortest, and you can utilize the civilian in those cases. :)

Re: Customs

We went through the civilian line and had no problems. I didn't fill in anything for the occupation section on the form since I don't currently work and they didn't bat an eye about it.
