Need Help with Strong Smell
My smell coming from my bathroom drainage systems is starting to become quite strong. In the beginning I could only smell it when I went into the bathroom, but now the smell is all over my apartment.
Can anyone tell me of any products I can place in the bathroom to absorb the smell or anything I can pour down the pipes? I've poured bleach down the drain a couple of times but that only last for a day or two. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. THank You Last edited by Urista : 10-19-2007 at 03:46 PM. Re: Need Help with Strong Smell
you're in korea, you sure the smell is coming from the bathroom drain? If you are, and you are living in an older place, it is possible you have a drain that does not have a water trap to keep the sewer gas from backing up through the pipe as is required by code in the USA. if you are living in a newer place, couldn't tell ya. complain to the landlord and see if they are interested in helping you first.

Re: Need Help with Strong Smell
also if it is an older place and you are talking about the floor drain, as I assume, it is possible the floor drain isn't even connected to the sewer system and just draining outside somewhere and the smell is from outside and coming through the drain pipe. house or apartment complex?

Re: Need Help with Strong Smell
I hear ya! Our drain reeks of some strange drift. Can't really describe it. Any solution one could offer would be greatly appreciated. Edit: We're on the 5th floor of a brand new villa and it really is discusting in the loo!

Re: Need Help with Strong Smell
We had a bad smell coming into our (very old) house in the states.
It was coming from a pluged drain or something in the floor of the closet. We found a plastic cap at the hardware store and covered it with it, then caulked to seal it up. The smell went away for the most part. In another house we lived in, I had to pour bleach down the drain weekly to keep the smell out. |

Re: Need Help with Strong Smell
This doesn't help I just want to rant about smelly bathrooms to. We are actually packing our stuff up and moving to a new villa tomorrow because we're fed up with the smell. We got a place on the 4th floor so i'm praying it won't smell.
