Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

Yea, my rooms were huge, and a WHOLE wall of closets (20 feet of closets). However i'm at Camp Humphreys.

But, what alot of people are doing here that find a place they want thta does not have closets, tell the landlord you want the place but you need closets......you'll be surprised what you get..

Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

May I recommend "smile" realty, right down the road from the maingate ~ My husband got a tour of several apartments, and the Realtors go with you while your get your apartment inspection (through Base housing)... they worked out all the paperwork, and told us what to give to Housing. Very friendly people! I live down the road at Chunil Hotel, the owners also own the Hotel Asia, and are very nice. Rent is reasonable for a 2-bedroom apartment on A1C pay to boot =)

Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

I live down in the opera house complex. it's about a 10 min walk to the gate. I enjoy it though, its a nice way to start the morning. Plus, its easy to just tell the taxi "opera house" and he knows right where to go, no crazy addresses.

I went thru century 21 realtors. They worked everything for me, it was suprisingly nice. Its a one stop shop for paying all my bills, rent, water, gas, and internet.

The opera house places are dual voltage, come furnished. I've got a nice bedroom with built in wardrobes.

Its a bit of a hike to work, but honestly, i dont care too much.

Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

Thanks for all the great info! Is there a free bus that takes us to the base from the airport? I thought I read something about it on another thread but now I can't seem to find it.

Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

Since this will be official travel, you'll pay $25, BUT that will be re-inbursed while filling out your travel voucher. And since its under $40, don't worry about keeping track of that little ticket stub like I did.

For future reference, while planning out maybe a trip back home or to Japan or where ever, If its non-official travel then the ITT Bus costs $35 , so I recommend taking the off-base bus which is a 10-min walk from the gate (or a 2 min taxi ride). That costs about 10 bucks, has more avalible time slots, and on your way back to the base you don't have to wait for 'another flight thats landing in half an hour'. ITT bus comes every 2 hours, Off-base bus comes every 1/2 an hour or so.

Thats just an aside, so if you have any questions when the time comes hit me up =)

Re: Arriving in OSAN in one month

Unfortunately, no. They will have to pay the full $35.

Also, make sure you have your orders out and on you when you board the bus, as you'll be showing it at the gate. Just make sure your spouse has their Military ID on them
