Unhappy PCSing to Osan From Eglin
Hi! I am Mel and i am PCSing from Eglin to Osan. I have never been overseas,except deployments, and i am not sure what to expect. So i have seen some pictures of rooms and stuff. But is there anything that i can bring that will make things easier. I guess im just nervous because i have been at eglin since tech school and have no clue what to expect. Everyone just keeps telling me that i will have a great time an not to worrie..Ha...Easier said than done. But i appreciate any inputs.Thank you in advnace.

They are correct...Relax and enjoy yourself while you are over here. It is truly a great experience....as long as you stay away from the Soju and the ville you'll be fine....

Welcome from all on the Forum! I'll bet you thought I would say don't worry and relax! You were right! Talk to your unit chaplain and get involved with people whom he recommends. At your age, you need to consider taking college classes. Please do. The AF will pay most of your education, and time will fly. No drinking, no smoking. Watch out for boys. Your Forum moderators here will always be available to answer questions.

I came here from Patrick...do buy some warm clothes before you leave! its a beauitful base and much easier living than the USAF stigma makes it out to be...

its modern, clean, and pretty good living. as everyone says, stay away from the gravitational pull of songtong and you will do great...

Stay away from Songtan?!?! WHY? I advise the opposite. Embrace your new hometown. Get out and experience it. Get to know the local people. Don't insulate yourself on base!

yeppers...culture of Korea is awesome...night life and what has been called "Adult Disney" -- not so great...and much time and money gone hanging out when there is so much more...

i constantly preach to my guys to go out and do more vice trying to nurse a hangover on Sat/Sun mornings...that is the gravitational pull of Songton that i am seeing so many youngsters get in the rut and never recover.
