I have a car...
I've driven all over Korea, but I do it sparingly now.
I enjoy the subway! From Seoul it costs less than $3 to go to Pyongtaek. Get off the train, walk under the street, turn left 1/2 block to McDonald's. There, get on the # 20 bus for less than $1, and it parks at Camp Humphreys vehicle gate. Walk to the right of the gate about a block, and the unmarked opening in the wall is the pedestrian gate! Don't push on the two unmarked revolving door gates you see inside, just go on to the only building on the right, also unmarked. Go around the end of the building and there is an unmarked door. Go inside, and continue down a corridor past other unmarked doors to the door down at the other end of the building. What? Oh yes, unmarked! Enter that door and maybe you will be as lucky as I was. There was a soldier with a device to read my ID card and let me in! There is a bus stop across the street. Ride free to the area of your choice. Not as cool as Osan, but it is home to some of America's best soldiers! May God protect them from all harm. ![]() Last edited by Mr. Joe : 04-13-2006 at 04:00 AM. |

Yes, but you have something we don't
You have a Four Seasons store at Camp Humphrey's. I bet you even have the cheapo plastic patio chairs I'm looking for.
Cheers, Chuck Ps What waterpark?? |

Chuck, we have a PX/Video store/Class Six/Four Seasons/generic GNC store ALL in one. What you have at Osan is much better than what we have. As for the chairs, no use in even looking here.
The water park is going to be nothing but a big pain in the @ss here. It is suposed to be big and nice but for only 2-3 months out of the year to use?????? Well......................... ![]()

To Valhalla Chuck...
We do have the chairs most of the time- Don't drive up here to Seoul just for them, though. They cost less than the highway tolls!
Unless you have a govt truck coming up anyway, ask your BX customer service to bring them on a truck from Seoul or Taegu. Also- I'll bet that Walmart at Suwon has plenty. Call first. |

Cool Beans
Thanks guys.
Your water park sounds like Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, Montana. I was stationed there and some braniac built an outdoor base pool. Those two months of warm wx were lots of fun. Thanks for the tip on the chairs. I don't need them that badly. What is the Walmart like in Suwon? Are prices falling like the adverstising sez? Cheers, Chuck |
