There used to be a "Sam's Garage" in Seoul...wonder if it's the same. Probably not.
I know most won't agree, but in my experience, I think Korean auto mechanics are superior to any auto mechanic stateside. |

Eddie, you are correct. They are by far more honest! I have never felt like I was being over charged. They also seem to throw in all the extras.

Sam's
Service means so much here!!
I had two tires replaced on base. They broke the stud that holds on the tire. I went to Sam's to have the stud replaced. He gave me a price to have my new tires installed. When I told him on base was cheaper he said he would do it for the same price. He also found several more studs that were weak. He sent his mechanic out in a taxi to get the studs and was back in 10 minutes. While balancing the tires he said the rim was bent (it was really bad looking). He sold me a used rim for $10. He even checked the two tires I didn't have replaced and he said they were safe. I was home in no time. Very honest. Very hard workers. And they have 1,000 photos of Americans who have had work done there. Cheers, Chuck |

mike-
Check the spelling on (James H. "Jimmie" Doolittle -- Outstanding Man of Aviation)
I suspect the gate is spelled DOOlittle. If the garage is wrong, explain it to him. Good Luck. |

Howdy from DC...I am on the way to Osan in June for 2 yrs and am wondering about the availability of good service on my 2001 Pontiac Montana van. I also have a 1995 Honday Odyssey (all hoses, belts, brakes, timing belt replaced in last 6 mos) and believe it or not I am thinking about bringing it vs the 2001 Pontiac...it has been a very reliable van.
Your thoughts regarding auto service availability and which one to bring is much appreciated...thanks! |

Re: Sam's Garage - Auto repair near Osan Air Base
Where I live in Waegwan, the mechanic I use will try to keep the price low as possible. I have an old car and he will use parts that are used versus new. For oil changes or anti-freeze changes, he will tell you to buy the fluids on base as his costs more and just charge you for the labor.
