Motorcycling in Korea
I'm new here and am trying to find out if there are any motorcycle clubs. I had heard that a couple of them hung out a Easy-Riders. I brought my bike with me to do some work on it and also some riding. Anyone know anything? Thanks!

Re: Motorcycling in Korea
Yes, Easy-Riders is the best place to meet others that ride motorcycles. Outside the main gate on your left.

Not being a rider, I think Korea would be so great for bikers. There ar so many back roads, back streets and country areas to discover!
I have traveled in Korea over many years. There are so many things to do and see. My caution to you is to be prepared! Travel with some means of communications. Cell phone would be adequate these days. Have phone numbers of your Unit and medical facilities, including the unique numbers to dial in Korea before your number! Flat tires can be repaired in most any town. Other mechanical or accident damage may not. Off road means carry enough Won to stay overnight if necessary, and for necessary repairs. Think like a boy scout,(or girl scout). Back alleys can mean caution when parking, so lock your bike up out of the way of vehicles. I have seen that the Bike Club at Yongsan is very influential. I have also heard, on good authority, that the Army brass are not exactly in favor of motorcycles. I can understand both sides. There are good and bad sides to every story. My friend, a CWO, just bought a Harley here. He is looking forward to a lifelong dream. He will attend the required Army school soon. Koreans mostly admire bikes! Foreign Drivers detest them, as Korean bikers and Scooter riders get away with driving on the sidewalks, passing on the right or left at will. Yesterday, one beeped his little horn at me-wanting me to move a little, away from the curb, so he could squeeze by on my right! I did. "Why can't we all just get along?" -(Rodney King!) |

Re: Motorcycling in Korea
Thanks guys for the info. I decided to bring my bike after seeing some of the pictures of the rides some clubs have done. It is a beautiful country to get out and see. I have some work to do on my bike before I can ride here (as well as wait for it to warm up, it's pretty cold for a Florida boy here). I figure I'll get some paint and powder-coat done while waiting for warmer weather. Here's a picture of my bike with my monkey on the back. Thanks for the info!
