Even though the boxes are packed by you, the packers may open them up, and repack anything that they deem necessary. This is due to the fact that they are liable for the packing and if something breaks, then they are liable to pay claims.
So am I correct in understanding that they cannot tell me that i HAVE to unpack everything?

Re: TMO expert? Anyone? Anyone?

You are correct. You do not have to unpack anything. The carrier is ultimatly responsible for the packing of the household goods and if they think it is packed well enough, than they will inventory it and close it up. If they think that it needs to be repacked, than they will unpack and repack it. A couple of years ago, there used to be "PBO" on the inventory...meaning packed by owner. Now that the carrier is assuming liablity on the HHG, than they must take care of any packing.
