Re: newborn passport pics???

My buddy got his taken on base here in Yongsan just yesterday. It is usually the same place that takes "official" photos for the leadership.

Re: newborn passport pics???

Go to the Osan BX and there is a photo place in there. They do them for $10. Bring a piece of white fabric as you'll have to hold baby against you to take the picture. Make sure you know how the passport pictures need to be when you pick them up *it only takes 30 minutes* They did a horrible job the first time and we had to have them do them again.

Re: newborn passport pics???

We got my son's passport picture taken at the Osan BX. We didn't have to bring a white fabric though. I just held my son on my lap and had the guy take the pictures. He then digitally changed the background to white. They came out pretty decent looking for a newborn picture. lol

Re: newborn passport pics???

That place is called Aurora Studios, right on the end of the Shin Jang Mall. I just had my son's pictures taken there (he's testing for his next belt in martial arts) and it cost 8,000 won for eight little pictures. I don't know how much the passport size would be, but I imagine about the same.

If it's an official passport, can't you have the pics done at MPF? We had ours done there for our official passports since our follow-on is to Ramstein. (And I don't know if I'm letting the cat out of the bag on this one, but we were able to use our official passports to come over here even though we're not command-sponsored.)

Hope that helps!

Kara

Re: newborn passport pics???

No, you have to get your own passport pics done here. But the guy at the passport office suggested the place at the BX or the photo studio just outside the main gate.

Ladybug-- Thats funny. They didn't give us the option of doing that. They actually told us at first they wouldn't do the pictures because he was a baby, but we said we had to have them done so we could get a passport to leave the country. He eventually said okay but we had to pay more and have white fabric. The back side of the receiving blanket I had was white, so we just used that.

That is funny. I had to pay more to have it done too but was told it was because of the digital enhancements not because it was of an infant. The guy taking the pictures didn't seem too happy about taking them but thankfully did it anyways.
