Question Leaving Korea question

When can one leave Korea?

I remember leaving Iceland years ago, if you arrived between the 1st and the 15th you could leave the first of your ending month. But if you arrived the 15th through the 31st you had to leave on the 31st. I don't even remember what he policy was for Turkey.

To my knowledge, for us AF folks, if policies haven't changed in the past 2 weeks or so, that determination is made by a squadron by squadron basis... the commanders have their own policies as to when port of calls can be scheduled. I know some units that have all departures on a certain date of the month (rotations occur on the 15th, the 20th, etc.) you're scheduled to depart, and some that have the policy of 365 + 5. If your departure date falls during an exercise, etc. however, you may be extended to go through that exercise (unless you already have plane -tickets-, not just reservations in hand, then that extension becomes a little more difficult).

I'd contact your unit and ask what their policy is.

Dee :)

Re: Leaving Korea question

On the Army side, you will not leave 1 day prior to your DEROS date, unless you put infor a curtailment and it is approved by 8th Army.

Does not matter when you get here if you got here on the 10 of July 2006 you'll leave the 11 of July 2007, unless there is a holiday or that day falls on a weekend.
