Orders Cut
How long does/did it take to get your orders cut at Osan?
Thanks, Jen |

Re: Orders Cut
You're going to have to be a lot more specific. Do you mean order to Korea, or orders from Korea?

Re: Orders Cut
If you've done your outprocessing checklist and turned it in, it shouldn't take long. But, it's Osan so they'll wait until the last minute to get you your orders. Just keep on MPF about it. Don't call, go over there and bug them. If they don't get you orders by the 30 day mark, I'd ask for a letter "in lieu of orders", so you can at least do TMO.

Re: Orders Cut
Osan has become notorious for not getting folks orders to them in time. Even RIPS are coming down far later than they should. I've heard of folks not getting their orders in hand until the *week* that they're supposed to be leaving.
As other posters have said, the key here is to be persistent, definitely have your hubby check with his CSS on a regular basis...most units now are aware of the problem, and I know of at least a few situations where 1st shirts, and the chain of command have had to get involved to get the matter resolved. Todd's definitely got the right idea, if you don't have your orders by 30 days out, start asking for "letters in lieu of", as not only will that get you what you need to start working with TMO,etc, it's also going to draw some attention at MPF that "Hey, this person doesn't have their orders!" :) HTH, Dee :) |

Re: Orders Cut
Have you checked VMPF? I was used to the old school way of getting orders but now they're posted on VMPF. Not sure if they do that at Osan.
