Final Word On Overseas Oha= Yes!
HERE IS THE WEBSITE:
http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem/faqoha.html I'm tired of all the questions and speculation. This is what the JTR says as of today. If there was or is a change, it should have been updated. (Local policies that differ must be challenged, if they indeed exist.) This JTR applies to all services. HERE IS A QUOTE FROM THE FAQ PAGE: Q7: I AM PLANNING ON TAKING MY FAMILY OVERSEAS WITH ME. WILL I GET A HOUSING ALLOWANCE FOR THEM? A7: YES. AS OF 1 OCT 2005- COMMAND SPONSORSHIP IS NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR A SERVICE MEMBER TO RECEIVE OHA FOR HIS ACCOMPANYING FAMILY. I don't think it could be more clear. copy the reg and show it to anyone who wants to argue. Tell us if you get any other information that is contrary to this. I am not advocating you fight with your Commander. Just show people the reg and gather conflicting information. Be polite, but be prepared to take the matter to the Inspector General. Discussing with first Sergeants and lesser supervisors is a waste of their time and yours. |

Well, I think you should still discuss it with them. It's good for them to know what is going on with their Soldiers. Let them know you are going up the chain.

Like I said, be polite. don't argue. Be extremely polite. Say that you truly appreciate their concern and advice. But don't give up because someone thinks they are an authority.
